Rescue Me ID: 15-04-13-00401STANLEY - $170 (male)

Norfolk Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

STANLEY was saved fro San Antonio Animal Care Services on 30 March 2015. He was all alone and scared in his kennel and we just couldn't leave him alone. STANLEY is labelled as a Wire Terrier / Norfolk Terrier Mix, but we are not sure what he is other than he is a lovely wire haired terrier. STANLEY since being at the rescue has not been bothered with being amongst a lot of dogs and quite happily walks underneath and inbetween the German Shepherds. He is very confident and equally loving and affectionate. If he is not playing, or up on the bed curled up with me, he is either amongst the terriers or snuggled up to the German Shepherds ... (Read More)content in his environment. STANLEY although could easily be your lap-pet he is not the needy type of dog that is always trying to climb up your leg to pick him up. He is happy doing his own thing but would gladly stop everything to give and get some love and affection. STANLEY like all dogs will benefit from some basic and advanced training with his family, this not only helps to strengthen bonds, but allows both human and dog to learn each others personality and body language which is a vital thing in dog ownership. STANLEY is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 27 March 2015 and at the time of rescue weighed around 10 pounds. STANLEY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $170 If you are interested in giving this wonderful, loving boy the perfect forever home that he deserves our application can be found on our website under the application tab. www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-08-00317Biljack (male)

Norfolk Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It never ceases to amaze us how some folks can give up great pets. Biljack was adopted from the Animal Defense League originally, and he'd only been in his new home for a year before his owners surrendered him to Animal Control. We didn't get details as to why, but it couldn't have been anything scruffy Biljack did- he's such a great guy it had to be something else. Everyone gets a second chance though, so it's his turn to try one more time to find that perfect home. This boy is about as cute as they get. Only about 15 lbs, he's a compact ball of scruffy hair and personality. He is a friendly boy who loves to meet new folks. He'll walk right ... (Read More)up and put his paws in your lap or hop up and sit with you. He likes to be where you are. Biljack also loves to meet new dogs and is always ready to play. He and his foster sister Lady have had a blast so far! Biljack is house broken and crate trained. He'll whine a little when he's in the crate but it's only because he really wants to be sitting with you and not by himself, but he quiets down quickly and will just wait for you to let him out. Biljack even knows his basic manners like 'Sit' and walking on a leash! This handsome guy would be perfect for just about any family. Don't miss out- fill out your application for Biljack today! Rescue Me ID: 15-03-28-00010BREE (female)

Norfolk Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

BREE was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 26th March 2015. BREE was very quiet when I initially picked her up, but literally within minutes of being at the rescue with the other dogs, her personality came shining through. She is a happy girl, loves to be as close as possible and will walk by my side, but is also more than happy playing with the other dogs and pups, although she has an eye on where I am at. BREE is not really very vocal as of yet, but she will bark at someone walking past - along with all the other dogs. She is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be picked up, or put up on my lap where she will lie ... (Read More)quietly enjoying the ear scratches or belly rubs. BREE gets on great with the other dogs of all sizes and has no fear being amongst the German Shepherd Dogs. She walks confidently amongst them. BREE would benefit from a family that has the time and energy to give to a happy young, energetic dog. She would benefit from basic and advanced training with the family. This not only helps to set boundaries but it helps the bond and allows both human and dog to learn each others personalities, temperaments and body-language. BREE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. At the time of rescue she weighed around 16 pounds. She has an estimated date of birth of 19 March 2014. BREE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. If you are interested in sharing your heart and home with this precious beauty, please go to our APPLICATION tab on the website to complete and submit our application to get the adoption process started. Rescue Me ID: 15-03-23-00217CARRIE (female)

Norfolk Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

CARRIE was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 22nd March 2015. CARRIE has been labelled as a Norfolk terrier mix, but since we are not too familiar with the Terrier breed, we do not really know how accurate this is, so please look at her photo's and make up your own opinion. CARRIE was found as a stray in San Antonio, but she does act as if she has been in a house before. She is very gentle and sweet and will roll over and present her belly to be rubbed, but she does not force herself upon you to get attention. CARRIE is doing great with the other dogs, sometimes the pups get a little too much for her and she just lets them ... (Read More)know and they leave her alone, she is not aggressive at all. CARRIE would be great for a family that is familiar with small-medium sized dogs. Who have the time to spend with her teaching and guiding in and training her in basic and advanced obedience to help set boundaries and expectations. We do not have cats in the rescue so are unable to assess her with cats. CARRIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18th March 2014 and at the time of rescue she weighed around 24 pounds. CARRIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. Our application process and application can be found on our website under the APPLICATION tab. Rescue Me ID: 15-03-19-00279AGGIE (female)

Norfolk Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

AGGIE was saved from GARLAND Animal Shelter on 12th March 2015. She had been an owner surrender. The shelter staff labelled her as 'Fearful Aggressive' and she was scheduled to be killed. When our volunteer went to pick her up to bring her to the safety of the rescue she said she almost jumped in her arms wanting to get out of that shelter. AGGIE we think is a silky terrier / Yorkshire terrier, but we could be wrong, there is no way of knowing and being a German Shepherd Dog Rescue we are not overly familiar with the terrier breeds. AGGIE is a little over-whelmed and clearly now understanding what happened to her. She is cautious of the ... (Read More)other dogs and prefers to stay out of their way, then be amongst them. When she was being vetted and heart-worm tested which involved the drawing of blood the staff did have to muzzle her, but again I think so much has happened to this precious girl in such a short time she is just so over-whelmed. AGGIE is content being at the rescue on her perch she has created on top of the dog crate, or at night she snuggles up close to me at night. AGGIE will do great with a family that loves to have a lap dog, that has a chilled out, none crazy life. I do think that she would adapt to living with other animals but this would take time. AGGIE does get fearful and does look she will bite when stressed, which although sounds bad, this is a natural reaction for dogs to do - and so she needs a family that understands and accepts this, that will work with her to over-come her fears and equally as importantly who has a veterinarian who is compassionate and understanding too. AGGIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated age of 3 years and at the time of rescue weighed 13.80 pounds. AGGIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. If you are interested in adopting this precious girl and giving her the life she needs and deserves our application can be completed and submitted on our website under the APPLICATION tab.
